Origins of the Air Max Plus shoe
Nike's revolutionary Air-Sole unit was introduced to the Nike shoe line in 1978. In 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 showed visible air in the heel for the first time. Now everyone could not only feel the comfort of Air-Sole technology, but also see it in action. In 1998, the Air Max Plus introduced a cushioning system where Air-Sole units were adapted to specific parts of the foot to provide runners with greater stability and support. The sunset-inspired colours and wavy lines of the shoe, reminiscent of windswept sandy beaches, have become a reference and a true cultural phenomenon.
